Scope of Application

This Privacy Policy sets forth the handling of the information of customers (“Customers”) who use the “hananona app” services (the “Services”) operated by STAIR Lab., Chiba Institute of Technology, (the “Lab”). In cases where there are other agreements between the Lab and Customers concerning the handling of Customer information, such agreements shall have priority.

Purposes of Use of Obtained Information

The Lab will obtain Customer information for the following purposes.

• Providing, optimizing, and improving the Services.
• Development of new products, new services, or new businesses.

Outsourcing of Information Handling

The Lab may outsource to third parties the handling of information (including personal information) obtained from Customers, to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use. On such occasions, the relevant third party’s suitability as a consignee will be fully reviewed, and the consignee will be managed to ensure that Customer information is handled appropriately.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Lab will not provide Customer personal information to third parties, except when the consent of the relevant Customer has been obtained or where permitted under laws and regulations.

Disclosure, Correction, and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

When the Lab receives a request from a Customer for the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or elimination (“Disclosure etc.”) of personal information pursuant to the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“Personal Information Protection Act”), the Lab will use Lab-prescribed methods to verify that the request was made by the relevant customer him/herself, and will thereupon carry out such Disclosure etc. without delay; provided, however, that the foregoing will not apply in cases where the Lab does not owe a duty of Disclosure etc. under the Personal Information Protection Act or any other law or regulation. Please be advised that a fee (¥1,500 per case) will be collected for all Disclosures etc. of personal information.

Inquiries

Complaints and other inquiries concerning the handling of Customer information shall be carried out by the method set forth below unless the Lab has indicated otherwise.

Revision of Privacy Policy

The Lab is entitled to amend the Privacy Policy without prior notice to Customers, as necessary. The Privacy Policy as amended shall be applicable from the time of its publication in the Services, and when Customers utilize the Services thereafter, such Customers will be deemed to have consented to the Privacy Policy as amended. In cases where a Customer cannot consent to the amended content of the Privacy Policy, he/she must cease use of the Services.
